Sheppard Cycles Product Recall – New Zealand

Please note the following details regarding a New Zealand-wide product recall from Sheppard Cycles New Zealand Ltd (SCNZ).

Models affected:

The recall covers the following Avanti, Malvern Star, and Raleigh models, sold from 1 July 2014.

Why the product is recalled: These products have been recalled because the front wheel can become loose if the Quick Release (QR) lever is not correctly installed and tightened.

Hazard: Failing to correctly install and tighten the Quick Release (QR) can lead to the front wheel becoming loose and falling out. This heightens the risk of accidents or injuries to the rider.

What to do: if you have one of the models above you should stop riding the bicycle immediately and contact the place of purchase to arrange a replacement front Skewer to be fitted, free of charge.
